FRIDAY 56 & Book Beginnings 01.07.16.

Friday 56 is hosted by Freda’s Voice and Friday Book Beginnings by Rose City Reader.

Good morning everybody ! Almost weekend !!! I'm really looking forward to tomorrow ! My husband and I bought a moped (?) I think you call it in English? And we can pick it up this Saturday !

I'm really trying to look at things as positive as I can be, but it is really hard. My grandmother died last Wednesday and even though she was getting worse and worse and this is better for her.. I'll still miss her a lot. She was my last grandparent, and now I have none left..

But first, today another book beginnings and page 56 ! I knew from the moment I started this book that I would choose this one for today. I LOVE this book, I LOVE the characters and the humor. I'm so glad a new one came out this week, because it is most definitely one of my favourite series. So without further ado..

FIRST Sentence.
"Ignoring the dead girl standing next to me, I crossed my bare feet on the cool windowsill, took a sip of piping-hot coffee, and watched the emerging sunrise from my third-story window. A soft yellow scaled the horizon and stretched across it like tendrils of food coloring suspended in water. Ribbons of pink and oranges and purples quickly followed, the symphony a low, exquisite seduction of the senses.
Or it would have veen if there weren't a dead girl standing next to me."

56%.
"No." I stood and paced the floor, which was only slightly wobbly. "You know what? I have deceided I am okay with it. I'm okay with it all. We can bring little Damien home and raise him as our own."
"Like a wolf found in the wild."
"This will be great. We can go get him this weekend."
"Isn't that called kidnapping?"
"He'll love it here. Especially once I adopt that elephant."
"I have a feeling his mother might not appriciate that."
"Oh right. He might be scared of elephants."

If you haven't started on this series yet.. do it now !! It is one of the most awesome series at the moment. Full of humor, great characters, great guy.. Exciting and mysterious plot. Just great altogether and totally worth it !

  8. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your grandma. I lost my last grandparent in March 2010. It is so very hard to say good-bye to our grandparents, even when we know they are now healed. Aside from the fact that is hurts very much to lose them, it also brings us more face-to-face with our own mortality. You're in my prayers.

I love the title of this book.

    Have a blessed weekend.
