FRIDAY 56 & Book Beginnings 29.04.16.

Friday 56 is hosted by Freda’s Voice and Friday Book Beginnings by Rose City Reader.

Goodmorning everyone. You know, last week the weather was just lovely. The sun was shining and it got a bit warmer.. but this week is just horrible. Dark clouds, lots of rain.. cold wind.. Welcome to Holland XD But it does match my mood, so that’s at least something.

I just wish everything would get better, I mean, things were getting better, and now everything is down the toilet again. I only have one grandmother left, all my other grandparents have died, hell I scattered my grandmothers ashes not two weeks ago.. and now my only grandparent left is going to die soon.. Sometimes life just sucks.

But well, at least today is Friday and that means another 56 & Book Beginnings, so let me get started on that.

I’ve read some intense books the last couple of days, and I’ve got to admit that it kind of trough me off. It got me a bit in a reading slump and with work being super busy I really am missing time to read. But I hope this weekend I will have more time and can get started on my new book ! This one was just released a couple of days ago and I can’t wait to get started on it !!

So without further ado..

FIRST Sentence.
“The girl was eleven and three-quarters.
Three very important quarters.
They’d been of consequence when her father had left her in charge this morning, with an important task to accomplish. So, with a world-weary sigh, she pushed up her tattered sleeves and heaved rubble into the nearby wheelbarrow.”

PAGE 56.
“Careful not to disturb Irsa, Shahrzad stepped into her sandals to take in some air. She stole her sister’s shahmina and draped the long triangle of cloth over her head to shield herself from a chilly desert night. Then she made her way to the entrance of the tent, securing its flap shut behind her—
Before sprawling across the body lying in wait outside.
“Uff!” Shahrzad rolled into the sand.
Strong hands grabbed her, pinning her down. A vision of a hooded soldier flashed through her mind. An angry soldier with a scarab brand and a weapon meant for war.
She struck out against a wall of muscle. Slapped at a face hewn from stone. Stared back into eyes the silver of sharp knives."

I hope I made you a bit curious about this book.. ^^ Have a nice weekend.
